  • By calibration

At RS India, we believe in the regular calibration of our machinery. Specialized tools like interferometers and updated laser calibration systems are used to ensure the best performance of the machinery. These machines go through service and calibration annually so that they can use as minimum deflection as possible. The manufacturer makes sure that to achieve tight tolerance limits, the machine remains in good shape.

  • By Warming Up the Machinery

It is of utmost importance to warm up the machinery until it reaches its operating temperature. It also minimizes all the dimensional changes that may occur during the working of the machinery. This ensures that the lubrication and bearings inside the machinery are enough warmed up. Although it is a standard procedure to warm up machines before any milling operation, we follow a more aggressive warm-up routine. This assures us about the exact tight tolerance limits.

  • By Thermal Stabilization

A lot of people may think that warming up is the same as thermal stabilization. But they are not synonymous. Warm Up implies that the machine is warmed up gradually before it comes to its operating temperature. But what about the external factors like fluctuating shop temperatures. Or what if some machinery is kept near a sunny spot, a vent or a window?

Then these factors can cause the machinery or the work piece in use to change dimensionally. We at RS India even out the material’s temperature also. If the material in use is stored in a very cold room, then it’s temperature is brought to a more ambient level. This helps us in maintaining the quality of machines as well as their tight tolerance levels.

  • By tooling

For achieving tight tolerances, the most important thing is to have the right tooling. Different tools are used for varied desirable purposes. This allows a reduction in tool wear and faster machining. Some of these tools are Radiused tools, Square end tools, Sharp tools, etc. It is best to use tools that have a large number of flutes available. It is because it leaves a crisp, polished finish on the machinery.
